Reminder: On the first Friday of each month in the 2011-2012 school year, Lum Elementary hosts a “Feet First Friday” event that encourages more students to walk or bike to school and celebrates those who are already walking and biking. Please walk a canned food item to school, and deposit it in the Alameda Food Bank cans outside the office.

The Alameda Food Bank accepts canned foods and other non-perishable foods in unopened containers; in particular, the food bank urgently needs Beef Stew (20-24 oz), Canned Fruit (15 oz), Chili With Beef (15 oz), Canned Tuna (6 oz), Canned Corn (15 oz), and Rice (1 lb. packages).
