Show Your Lum Spirit in the 4th of July Parade

This entry was posted under News.

Come join Lum Elementary’s 4th of July Float and show Alameda that the Lum Spirit lives on!!  Join us as we walk and roll along the parade route.  Meet by 10 am along Lincoln Avenue between Park and Grand.  We are #56 in the line-up.We will have a float for kids to ride on (if we have too many, we will take turns riding/walking).  Experienced bikers/scooter riders are welcome to ride along and behind the float — helmets are a MUST (if you don’t have a helmet, the parade organizers will not let you participate).  It’s a long parade — 3.3 miles — so parents should bring strollers/wagons for smaller children.

Families are invited to join us for the whole route or for portions.  Feel free to jump in/out along the way–here’s the parade route.

Please wear Lum colors (red and white, which should be easy given how much red, white and blue everyone will be wearing), or any Lum Spirit Wear that you have. Remember that it will probably be a hot day, so you may want to avoid sweatshirts, and bring lots of water (and wear sunscreen).  Don’t forget some snacks for the kids.

You can find more information about the parade at the parade website.

Look forward to seeing all the Lum Bears on July 4th!
