The Garden Docent program gives parents the opportunity to work with their child’s classroom in the school garden. Materials and activity plans are provided to do science, math, and art lessons with the teacher and class. Being a Garden Docent is not so much about caring for the plants, as being helpful to the teacher so that they can do hands-on activities outside with nature. The Garden Committee makes sure the plants are cared for on an ongoing basis and organize periodic Garden Work Days for all Lum families to help keep the garden in great shape.
More volunteers are always needed to keep Lum looking gorgeous! If you are interested in helping out, contact a Gardening Club Co-Chair.
