PTA’s Go Green Recycling program helps students, families, and staff keep Lum Green!
The Alameda Unified School District is committed to sustainability in our schools. In April, 2009, the school board passed the Alameda Green Schools Resolution recognizing that schools have the potential to make positive, tangible environmental change in the world while teaching students to be stewards of their communities, the earth, and its resources. The Go Green program oversaw the implementation of recycling throughout Lum School. PTA volunteers provided education to students and staff along with posters and hand-outs. Parents have also volunteered during lunch periods to support students in their recycling efforts.
